Top 10 Ways to Learn to Love Your Body Again
We’re all guilty of being hard on ourselves. Constant images of flawless celebrities are everywhere – online, on TV and all over the internet. Well, it’s time to stop the body hate and learn to LOVE your body again. Here’s how:
Work out Training not only helps you look and feel good, but it also releases endorphins – the hormone which lets you get that post-workout high – so that you can learn to love exercise and all that it can do for you.
Cook for yourself Your body is your temple, and there’s nothing better than taking control of what enters that sacred space. Cook wholesome, clean, additive-free foods and you’ll be able to feel the difference.
Keep a food diary Write down everything – the good and the bad. This is a chance to be honest with yourself and see which habits you might need to change.
Set positive exercise goals Instead of hopping on the treadmill with the mindset “I want to lose weight”, set more positive targets. If you’ve never run for 5 minutes without stopping before, start with that and once you’ve reached that target, keep pushing. Onward and upward!
Focus on healthy routines Drink water to stop hunger pangs and unnecessary snacking, go to bed at a decent hour, present your food nicely on a plate so that it looks more appetising. All advice that you’ve undoubtedly heard before, but it’s amazing what the small changes can do.
Do your research Read up on fats, proteins and carbs and learn about what they can do for your body. A clued-up mind is a more satisfied mind.
Put down your smartphone “Comparison is the thief of joy” so, if you’re looking at models and believe that you’ll never look as good… get away from your screen and those Photo shopped images of those “perfect” looking celebrities. Get some fresh air and keep that negativity out of your life.
Clear away the negativity A great way of banishing those negative thoughts? Meditation. Even if you think it’s not your thing, develop a mantra and learn to love your amazing body.
Believe in yourself You might doubt yourself every day. Don’t let those nagging thoughts creep into your head! Stay positive every day, and eventually your body positivity won’t be forced – it’ll be embedded in your psyche!
Make body confidence your “thing” Finally, don’t just think of having a positive body image as a “once in a while” thing. Always love your body. You are awesome.
